SmileStream is a service from Dental Hi-Tech that shows patients a personal welcome and education films on the TVs in a dental practice. This page explains, in plain English, what information we handle and why.

On this website

The early-access form. When you request early access we receive what you type: your practice’s name, your name and work email, and — if you add them — a phone number, the number of operatories, your city and a message. We use these details only to contact you about early access. We keep them in SmileStream’s own systems, never sell them, and delete them whenever you ask.

No tracking. This site doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.

In the SmileStream service

Staff accounts. Each practice’s team members sign in with a name, email address and password. We use these to run the account and to send service emails, such as invitations.

Patient names on the TV. When staff send a welcome, the practice’s setting decides how much of the name reaches the TV: first name, initials, a code — or the full name, only with the patient’s consent. Names are reduced to that form before they are stored, and erased automatically 24 hours after they are sent.

No patient records. SmileStream doesn’t connect to practice-management or charting software, and it never receives appointments, treatment notes or insurance details.

Videos. Films are delivered through short-lived signed links, so they play only on the practice’s own TVs.

Service providers. A small number of providers help us run SmileStream — Cloudflare delivers video and Resend sends our email. They process data only on our instructions. Our database runs on a server we manage ourselves.

Your choices
